Mad For Illamasqua

I love this video tutorial by Illamasqua. It's a different take on the smokey eye look and it looks so "Twilight"! I am excited just looking at it- although I am sad to say my fiance has said "no!" to cosmetics purchases! I am forcing myself to not buy their products- it's very hard! I find myself browsing their website and then checking out but when it comes to paying with my trusty credit card...I just stop and think about how mad he will be when he finds it on the statement!
Anyway, hope you like it as much as I do! I would love to try it out- maybe for a dress up party or something! I probably will scare the my fiance half to death- which is fun! ahaha My sister is in New York at the moment- I might give her a call and tell her to go to Sephora and get me some! He won't be able to track this! *Evil Grin*

Here is another inspirational look by Pixiwoo. Love their work!

I want this liquid metal eyeshadow in "Solstice"! It is something I definitely don't have in my collection. Do you get makeup amnesia sometimes? I tend to buy the same colour blush- the light pink ones especially!

Anyway, here is my attempt at combining the two video tutorials above into one look! It's not as crazy so it's definitely wearable and I got a chance to try out some false eyelashes:) They make a huuuggeee difference. A bit uncomfortable though- the sufferings of makeup application for beauty! It's worth it:P

MAC Hello Kitty Paradisco Look

I played around with my Hello Kitty Palette from MAC-just for fun! This is the Paradisco look from the Hello Kitty collection. I love the paradisco colour:)

I didn't have the Milk pigment so I used my "Gold" one instead. Turned out to be a bit green in the inner corners!

For the lips I used "Straying" since I didn't have the "Big Bow" lipstick. And put "Mimmy" Lipgloss over the top.

MAC Style Black: A Toned Down Version!

I can't wait for the MAC Style Black collection to come out! I like the look they have in this ad (below) so I will attempt to do a toned-down version of it using what I have in my makeup stash! Wow! I don't think they even use eyeshadows- the colour is so dark and got a sheen to it. Maybe it's just liner all around the eyes? I dunno but it looks very vampy! I have to try the black nail varnish too:)

Firstly, I am not used to putting on sooo much eye makeup! It's scary! In the photos it might not look like much but I practically shovelled my eye makeup on! Beware- there is a lot of fallout when you don this type of look so I suggest doing your foundation last!

I don't know why- but this makeup brings out the weird in you! ahhaha Here are some scary funny faces- and no, I am not drunk! :P

here is a what I used for the eyes:
  • MAC E/Shadow: Carbon- lots of it!
  • MAC E/Shadow: Nehru & Cloudburst to add a bit of shading and shimmer
  • MAC E/Shadow Vapour to highlight brow bone
  • Bobbi Brown Gel Liner Black Ink
  • MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara

I put on foundation afterthe eye makeup- I used Korres Wild Rose Foundation. Finished it off with Benefit Dandelion. Add my fave lipgloss from KIT cosmetics- Dreamcatcher.
Warning: Another scary photo below...this is what I looked like when I used my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil to take off all that black makeup! I had to use at least 4 pumps to really get my face clean! Looks ewww!

Gossip Girl: How to be Blair Waldorf

I love Gossip Girl! My fave character is....bad girl Blair Waldorf! Although she can be a bit of a B**** I find her to be the most interesting character....Serena is too goody good! I am also in love with Chuck! He didn't grab me at first but he does grow on you after a while....especially when he starts to fall for Blair. Maybe I just like bad boys who are hard to tame...anyways here is my guide to being Blair!

You must have a best buddy who will stick with you no matter what- even after so many fights and I mean bitch fights- they are still friends!

Besides a best girl buddy, you must have obedient followers to do what whatever you say.....I wish I had my own lil group! haha

Own as many tights as possible! And in an assortment of colours- NEVER wear pants! EVER!
Jeans are a big no no. Period.

Always appear groomed and not a hair out of place. Even when you are at home, you wear only slinky slips!

Perfect your smile- you need a bit of charm to get what you want!

Wear headbands and make it your staple hair accessory!

Have a hot guy fall head over heels in love with you but you don't give him the time of day! You're Queen B- no time for playboys right?!

Tag: Beauty Routine

This is my (very small) vanity desk- I really want a new one! Arrgh!! *tearing my hair out!* I've been nagging about it constantly to my fiance that it's way too small and I can't see all my stuff since its everywhere! Plus, it's an eye sore that I wake up to every morning and it just makes me feel blah! I need a new table!

Anyways till I get a new table- I will let you see the mess that it is now and maybe I will do a before and after shot- I an hoping he will get me something new for my birthday in October! hehe :P

NOTE: This is considered a clean version of my table. It's a total mess 99% of the time!

Now, to the tag from gorgeous blogger Jbreezy! Thank you:) It's supposed to be about my daily beauty routine- I think! So here is my "usual" routine, I would usually mix it up a bit when I have time - weekends are great for experimenting:)

Firstly, my base! I am loving my Laura Mercier products at the moment. They make one of the best foundations and powders!

  • Silk Creme Foundation- So creamy, so blendable, moisturising and gives amazing coverage without the heavy makeup look. It's purrrfect!

  • Undercover Pot- I know, I go on and on about this product! Sorry but unless you try it yourself you won't know what you're missing out on.

  • Mineral Powder Loose Powder- It's a very fine and silky! I can't go without a pat of this on my makeup to set it. It's one of the best powder formulas around I think!

  • Foundation Primer- I use this if my skin feels like it's dry and flaky....not really sure if its the best primer but it's alright!

My everyday makeup routine is using a mixture of the above:

  • Bobbi Brown Gel Liner- Expresson Ink or Black Ink

  • MAX factor 2000 calorie/ MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara

  • MAC E/S Sketch, Star Violet & Satin Taupe

  • Kiehl's Lipgloss "Pink Rider"

  • Stila Palette- Oasis, Golightly & Kitten and a pink blush

  • Benefit Dandelion, Shu Uemura Blush "Rhythm" & SkinFood Blush 20

Skincare Routine........

Morning:

I use Philosophy Purity made simple cleanser- it's upside down cos I am nearly out! Boohoo!

I don't moisturise, I just put on my primer before I put on my makeup. Is that bad? I just think it makes my skin oily with moisturiser and a primer. So I skip it!

Night:

Shu Uemura Oil Cleanser- It takes off ALL my makeup in one go. I usually do this before I hop into the shower.

SKII Facial Essence- I pat this on my face after I dry my face.

Rodial Glam Balm- Again, no moisturiser. This is really oily already so I don't need it! It's kind of like the Egyptian Magic Cream but this one doesn't break me out and I wake up to soft skin in the morning:) It's a wrinkle fighter for lips, hands...anywhere!

Eye Cream- Laura Mercier Flawless Face Eye Serum...I got sucked in to buying this! Not sure what it does but at least it's better than nothing. It has a pearlescent sheen to it which is meant to counteract the dark circles. Not sure why this is helpful at night? No one is gonna look at me sleep! I don't put eyecream on during the day. :/

Extra Help- If I need a skin rescue or some extra pampering I use:

Dermalogica Skin Renewal Booster- This is great! It makes your skin smoother and less dry. I love it!

Face Shop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask- Very light mask that you can go to bed with and no need to rinse till morning! Another great product but can only use twice a week.

White Mud Nose Pack- This is meant to be a nose peel but I use it for my pimples! ahaha It seems to work because I cover it up and I don't feel the temptation to pick at it.

Wedding Ideas: Candies & Chocolates

Just going through some wedding planning this week and just thought I'll share some ideas!

Ideally, I would have opt for a dessert buffet for the reception dinner since I don't really fancy the normal chinese desserts they give for the banquets- red bean soup and mango pudding? *Yawn*

I asked the hotel wedding coordinator to give me some prices for a dessert buffet and she came back with a whopping price of $25 extra per head on top of the banquet price which is already $100 per head. Hmmmm....that doesn't sound like much but when you calculate for 500 people- that's a lot of money!

But I really want to incorporate something "Alice in Wonderland" into the reception so I thought of a Candy Bar instead! It's very Mad Hatter style and I love all the colours! So I skipped having the bombonieres and let the guests choose what they want to take home. I purchased some cute boxes that they can use to fill it up:)

Here are some pictures I found whilst browsing the net:

If I had a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme I would loooveee to have a Chocolate Buffet Table or Chocolate Bar! It's my kind of heaven! Maybe I will ask my sister to do it for my Hen's night :P

I'm enjoying experimenting with my pigments! Its a bit messy but it's fun anyway:)

  • MAC E/S Satin Taupe, Sketch & All that Glitters
