The Case of the Missing Lipsticks

I was looking for my favourite lipstick by Bloom in "Sassy" and realised it was not in my lipstick drawer (it looks like chaos in there!) and nearly cried! I actually purchased two of these because I love it so much. I know one I gave away to some bridesmaids after a makeup session and I still had one left. Now no more :(

Bloom Lipstick in Sassy

Napoleon Lipstick in DeVine Goddess

Another favourite lippie by Napoleon in DeVine Goddess is also missing! I suspect that I carry it in my handbags on a night out and then they disappear somehow.

The last time I wore Napoleon DeVine Goddess at my sister's Hen's Night. I think that's where I lost it! I remember putting it on everyone's lips to get them in a "Burlesque" mood....hmm maybe I'm glad I lost it so I can get a new one! :P

So I have been on the hunt again for similar shades. Bloom's Sassy is very hard to find. So I might scour the internet. I'm hoping the Napoleon one is still around!

Today I stumbled upon the new Mac Surf Baby Collection! The beachy babe thing isn't really me and the colours don't suit me but I saw the Hibiscus Lipstick and instantly fell in love! It's the perfect coral lipstick and suits my asian skin tone....sigh...so in love!

Beauty Experiments....

My first Chanel purchase- I was never really into the Chanel range...a bit boring and a tad too expensive for me. But I thought I would give their foundations a go this week. I bought the Pro Lumiere (for my shiny face) but it was recommended you go for the Vita Lumiere if you have dry skin.

Anyway I found it to be...OK only. I guess I am comparing it to Nars Sheer Glow and Laura Mercier Oil Free Hydrating Foundation- which are my favourites! Pro Lumiere is good but for the price I will still prefer the Nars or LM foundations. I wouldn't repurchase again.

I also bought a lipgloss/lipstick from Chanel (Rouge Allure Laquer no. 72) which is a really beautiful red colour. It is so bright red but it makes my teeth look super white! Even when it fades it gives a nice natural red stain at the end of the day. I like the wand applicator so it's very easy to apply straight onto the lips. The texture is very hydrating but not sticky. BEWARE- it still smudges so be extra careful of red teeth!

Lately my skin has been problematic- lumps, bumps and dry, flaky skin. Very annoying. Decided to try this sample pack -SKINFOOD's Black Sugar Mask. It smells like lemons and looks like brown sugar mixed with honey or something strange. Very course and I feel like it's going to irritate my skin even more and my skin felt tight. I had to apply a super moisturising cream afterwards. Rodium Glam Balm is my saviour! I recommend this to anyone- it's much better than the Egyptian Magic Cream.

Finally- I managed to dye my hair! My roots were so horrible. I tried Schwarzkopf Coloriste Hair Dye in Chocolate Brown. It ended up being more like a Jet Black! Pair it with my pale white skin- I kinda look like Morticia from the Adams Family! haha

Stay tuned for more beauty experiments..........

My New Bob

Are you ready? It's a big chop off my old boring hair and I am so glad I finally did it! Yay!

Sorry this is a closeup- using my new speed dial lippie - such a wearable everyday lipstick:)
ok unto the hair....

I love it! But I always like it after a session at the salon. It's what happens after the first wash- my hair doesn't behave! I need to colour my hair again- the roots are quite bad...

Anyway if you are in Perth and want to know the place I got my cut- Head Studio on King Street in the city. It's the same place I had my hair done last year before my wedding. It's also the same girl (name is Jesse- she is bubbly and very friendly plus very good at cutting hair). She felt so bad lopping it all off and she squeaked when they swept my pony tail away ahahaha...I don't really miss it at all. It feels so much lighter and cuts down my "getting ready" time before I go out.

Going to watch "Clash of the Titans" tonight...my first day off in ages!

Happy Easter everyone!

Hauls: Lipstick Cravings

I blame it on work- there is no time to go shopping nowadays. So naturally, I go crazy when I did find the time this week. I thought I lost all interest in makeup these few months. Boy was I wrong!

I also blame it on this video from one of my fave youtube makeup gurus- its an old one and she hasn't been making any new ones lately which is pretty sad......anyway to cheer myself up I thought I would buy the Lacvert lipstick in "Yuna Pink" and the lipgloss too in "Lovely Yuna". It looks like such a pretty colour! I had to have it!

In the meantime, while I wait for my purchases to come through the mail (its probably going to be two weeks!) and I am so impatient- so I went and bought the MAC Viva Glam -Lady Gaga Lipstick. Its a real pretty light blue pink. Surprisingly it is very tame kind of pink which is unlike Lady Gaga's adventurous makeup looks. Still- I love it!

While I was at the MAC Counter, I spotted the Spring Colour Forecast Collection. It's nothing special to me...but lately I have been wearing lots of golds and bronzes so I really like the Colour 4 eyeshadow palette. It's all I need for my daily makeup look.

Since I was on a roll, I bought my very first YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in no.1 (Nude Beige) and also the matching YSL Lipgloss. Oh, and I also had 6 empty Mac shadow pots and I exchanged them for a lippie in "Speed Dial".

Swatches: Top: Speed Dial and Bottom: YSL Rouge Volupte Nude Beige

The YSL Lipstick is very creamy- it literally just glides on! However- the colour does not suit me at all! Actually it makes me looks so washed out and tired. Maybe Nudes don't suit me- I need some colour! I guess I will have to buy another colour next time hehe:P Any suggestions???

Nail Art is Not for me!

I tried Nail Art for the first time in Singapore. I was shopping all day and I wanted to just sit down somewhere and just get pampered. So I popped into the first nail spa I saw. The lady next to me was doing something glittery so I just told the girl to do the same thing- I was too exhausted to think! They gave me a drinks menu with lots of tea options- my favourite! I chose a green tea and put my head back to enjoy my pampering session.

The end result was kind of ewwww...ahhaah don't know what I was thinking. Maybe it's because my hands are gross- I have stubby hands and fingers and really bad nails to start off with! This nail art did not do my hands any favours!

I couldn't wait to peel off those diamond studs- they felt like pimples on my finger nails- so yuk!

Anyway, I have been trying this new new lipstick by Bloop. I bought it at the Singapore Airport. It's an invisible lipstick which reacts to heat on your lips and changes to a bright pink colour! How fun!

It is very very pink- just something fun to do! The formula is oily and feels like lipgloss. The smell is not my cup of tea either! Like expired lollies? But otherwise its a very good moisturising lipstick.

Bonsai Restaurant & My New Lippie

Just went for a tasting of a new japanese restaurant opening in town- Bonsai! It was 60% off the bill but the catch is- you need to complete a 2 page survey:) That was fine with me. I love to do surveys on food. What bugs me is when people just rate you off as poor and don't give any reasons or any recommendations to make improvements. Being in the restaurant industry I know how hard it is to run a restaurant successfully and it isn't easy. No matter how good the food is or how good the chef is- you need a team to work together to make a good restaurant Fabulous! I really do believe that good food goes hand in hand with good service too.

Anyways here is some food porn as some people call it!

Top points for presentation and service! They are very attentive:) My fave dish is the Beef Asparagus.....didn't get a pic...ate it too fast!

And finally, I finish off with a new lipstick colour I bought. Bourjois Sweet Kiss Lipstick- Rose Seduisant. A very nice raspberry pink!

Products Used:
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation- Medium Ivory
MUFE HD Powder
MAC Studio Fix Concealer NC25
MAC E/Shadows Yoghurt, Swiss Chocolate & Sketch
Bobbi Brown Gel Liner -Black Ink
MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara
SKINFOOD Cheek Colour Pan 20
MAC MSF Soft & Gentle
The lipstick lasted quite long considering that I am a messy eater and I had tempura! It faded to a nice pink stain at the end of the night.

MAC Angel Lippie

So I depotted some of my MAC eyeshadows into my small little palette of 8- I really need to get bigger palettes! But before I go on a depotting frenzy I just wanted to check if the local MAC store will still accept empty eyeshadow pots without the silver base in their Back2Mac program and get a free lippie:) Yay! They do! Double Yay! So now I have to set aside a day to do some serious depotting of all my MAC shadows and get some big palettes! Anyone know where to get some besides Coastal Scents?

Anyways, just sharing with you what lippie I got, it's quite a pretty colour in "Angel". I like it! I know lots of people love this colour so couldn't wait to get it:) Hmmmm...need to shake up my makeup a bit- looks the same in all my photos! :P
