"Amazing Face" Book by Zoe Foster

Recently bought this book at David Jones (my favourite bookstore "Borders" closed down!) and just got through a few pages last night and loving it so far!

 Zoe Foster has some great tips! Plus she gives recommendations on specific products -a lot of beauty books don't do that. It's always very general. "Amazing Face" is straight to the point and very easy to read. I love the "Quick Ten Minute Face" tip. Very handy for busy mums!  

I forgot I had lipstick on when I gave Lucas a quick peck on the forehead. He is wearing my favourite lipstick at the moment- MAC Hibiscus from the Surf Baby collection.

Net-a-Porter purchases!

Here are my shoe purchases on Net-a-Porter which is on sale at the moment and there are further reductions on some items. I love to spend more but my budget only allows for these three shoes which are supposed to be "everyday" shoes. A big lie since none of them are very comfortable to wear for more than ten minutes! haha

I was hoping the Pedro Garcia wedges would be comfortable but they are so not! But they do make my legs look long and skinny (they are definitely on the short and stumpy side) so I will save it for occasions where I don't walk...at all! haha

I have yet to try the other two shoes but I am pretty sure it will not be practical for going out with baby. I have a fear of stacking it with my heels with baby in my arms. So I stick to flats for now!

I bought a pair of flats from witchery after walking down the mall in those wedges. I'm sure people were looking at me and thinking why this girl is walking like a pigeon?

New Sunnies by Karen Walker

I scored a pair of these limited edition Karen Walker sunnies on Ebay! So very happy! I needed a pair of sunglasses (so I tell myself!). Can't wait to wear them even though it's cloudy and rainy everyday!

My husband thinks I look like a dork in them since it covers half my face (my head is small!)

I went for lunch with my sister the other day and I was wearing my Joveeba leggings with my Birkenstocks sandals (which I thought was passable!) and straight away she made me buy new shoes!

They were both on sale and really comfortable to wear! Makes me feel great when I buy a nice pair of shoes. They are the last thing I think about when I put on an outfit and I always ruin the whole look by wearing really daggy shoes for the sake of comfort! I do have a baby to carry around already! haha But I am still wearing my Birkenstocks on some occasions- just not when I see my sister. Fashion Nazi she is!

At Home Pleasures on a Gloomy Day

This was a depressing view to see in the morning when I woke up. Very cold, windy and rainy. Makes feel like staying at home but we all have to work :(

Here are a few things to cheer me up.........

Marble Cheesecake from Regent Cakes in Perth. It's my favourite cake! I wish they could make a bigger sized cake with this so I can have it for birthdays!

A hot and home-made meal with a rice cooker! I experimented and used the rice cooker to make risotto and it turned out pretty good! Better than slaving away at the stove stirring and stirring. My husband says it's like western style porridge...errr...isn't that risotto? duh!

The Case of the Missing Lipsticks

I was looking for my favourite lipstick by Bloom in "Sassy" and realised it was not in my lipstick drawer (it looks like chaos in there!) and nearly cried! I actually purchased two of these because I love it so much. I know one I gave away to some bridesmaids after a makeup session and I still had one left. Now no more :(

Another favourite lippie by Napoleon in DeVine Goddess is also missing! I suspect that I carry it in my handbags on a night out and then they disappear somehow.

The last time I wore Napoleon DeVine Goddess at my sister's Hen's Night. I think that's where I lost it! I remember putting it on everyone's lips to get them in a "Burlesque" mood....hmm maybe I'm glad I lost it so I can get a new one! :P

So I have been on the hunt again for similar shades. Bloom's Sassy is very hard to find. So I might scour the internet. I'm hoping the Napoleon one is still around!

Today I stumbled upon the new Mac Surf Baby Collection! The beachy babe thing isn't really me and the colours don't suit me but I saw the Hibiscus Lipstick and instantly fell in love! It's the perfect coral lipstick and suits my asian skin tone....sigh...so in love!

Polish Up With Deborah Lippmann

Heard about Deborah Lippmann's Nail Polishes on the grapevine and the colours look amazing! I'm not obsessive about nails since it makes me feel like I can't do anything with my hands. However, the range looks so attractive I had to get some. I promise myself to have a day a week where I can enjoy manicured and polished hands- just one day and even that's quite a feat!

It's such a bummer that alot of the shades are temporarily sold out- so I got some of the colours on ebay. I would love to get my hands on "Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun" & "Yellow Brick Road".

My Winter Outfit

Mummies like me don't get a lot of time to get dressed let alone pick an outfit to wear. I tend to throw anything I see in my drawer as long it looks decent. No time to ponder this and that and be picky if baby is crying!

Dry Flaky Winter Skin

I am suffering from really bad dry, patchy, blotchy, flaky, itchy and lumpy skin this whole month. It has been getting me down! Here is a pic my husband took recently- me with no makeup! You can't tell but my skin is terrible! I envy my baby's plump, smooth & perfectly soft baby skin!

 I have been relying on Laura Mercier's Silk Creme foundation which totally covers all my imperfections and make my skin look much better. I dare not leave the house without it on! Desperately looking for a good winter skin moisturiser right now...any suggestions?

My favourite brekky at the moment- Avocadoes with feta and tomatoes on top of freshly baked bread! Yum!
