My Destination Wedding in Sabah

I am having my wedding in Sabah, Malaysia this coming January! Just let me say that I thought it would be easier to have my wedding all planned by the hotel (Shangri-La) but it has been quite a stressful experience. It's difficult to communicate only through emails and phone calls. Sometimes they take months to get back to you on simple matters such as booking a suite for your wedding day! Anyway, I have hired a another wedding planner to liase with the one from the hotel so I hope that will be easier since I am not physically there to be able to meet and talk with vendors etc.

How did he propose? He took me to an island nearby in Sabah called Gayana Resort and its a very secluded island away from the city. Then had a 8 course dinner out on the deck of our hotel room. I still had no clue! Afterwards, we went back to our room and I saw this! (below) The ring was hidden under some rose petals in a big clam shell in the middle of the swans! So pretty! To be honest, I still didn't know it was a proposal! I stopped and took this picture and turned around and he was on his knees-then I knew! ahah There was some chocolate truffles for me too:) How thoughtful!

I got my dress early (a week after he proposed!) from Kuala Lumpur in a place called Designer Bridal Room. It cost me an arm and leg but I love it! I will show some pics once I get my final fitting. That will be in September and I can't wait! I have to fly all the way to Kuala Lumpur for the dress fitting but I don't mind cos the shopping there is great! The food there is delish but I have to be careful not to get too fat or too skinny...being a bride-to-be can be annoying when it comes to eating. I love eating too much!

I got my trial makeup done by an MUA in Sabah. Her name is Sheila Liaw and she was recommended by my photographer, Louis Pang. Pics below! I'm not totally happy with it- I guess she kinda rushed it as she was in a middle of a wedding photoshoot when I arrived to get it done. I am thinking of maybe doing it myself? Decision decisions!

By the way, Louis Pang the photographer is a very talented guy. Check out his blog http://www.louispang.com/ you can see what he can do! Amazing!! My engagement photos are somwhere there in his blog. I love the sunset photo!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sheila's one of the top makeup artist in sabah and i heard her service was quite good cos a friend had her done the makeup for the wedding.
